Rise of the Tomb Raider

Over three years ago now, I got my gaming laptop. Back then, I fired up Tomb Raider (2013), a game that cost under £2 on Steam, and was blown away by the graphics and gameplay. Fast forward two years and my library of free games via the Epic Games Store has been stacking up, the sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider included. Now in possession of the PowerA Xbox Wired Controller, I was ready to delve back into the world of Lara Croft.

Epic Games Store – Free Games

I’ve always heard bad things about the Epic Games Store. As a company, I have only ever known them as the creators of Fortnite (a game I have never played) and the Unreal Engine, but in discussions, the Store always seems to come out bottom to the likes of Steam and GOG. Since the rise of COVID-19 though, they have been offering free games to account holders. Until now there have been a couple of notable triple-A titles: Watch_Dogs and Just Cause 4, alongside a string of popular (and not-so-popular) indie games. It seems that Epic Games are now upping the ante with the record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V available this week.
