Future Shock – 180 The Strand

After being turned down twice over by friends I thought would be interested, a week before closing my sister tagged along to check out the Future Shock exhibition being hosted at 180 The Strand. With a focus on interactivity, future technology and a world left unchecked, my interest was piqued having studied exactly this kind of exhibit at university, one featured collective, UVA or United Visual Artists, being a case-study for one of my own projects. Excited was an understatement.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

For a good hree years now, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 has been on my wish list. As a Nintendo Switch exclusive, it rarely sees a price drop and with Marvel being such a hot property, you can understand why. Finally last month though I was able to snag it in an eShop sale and, after some initial reservations about the game, it’s fair to say I am now well and truly hooked.

Convexity – MediaMonks

After a few weeks exploring exhibitions and video games, I decided this week to delve once more into the glorious archive of The FWA for inspiration and came across this fantastic recruitment filter tool for Convexity. Having applied for 170 positions prior to securing my new role in May, I know how much of a slog applications can be and so the effort that has been put in to spice up the process is appreciated, and mutually beneficial to both parties.

Life Is Strange: True Colors

I’ve been wanting to play the Life is Strange series for a long time now, but particularly since it was announced last summer that ports would be arriving on Switch. Following a surprise price-cut, the latest game, True Colors, appeared in my birthday stash this year and after receiving a hand-me-down 49″ TV from my parents, this past weekend I finally booted it up. Containing everything I look for in a single-player game: narrative, choices, emotion; did it live up to the hype?
